What If Gen Z Designs a Workspace?
Let’s be real
we’re not trying to “fit in” with old-school office setups.
We’re building a whole new vibe.
Gone are the days of grey walls, stiff chairs and cubicles that felt more like corporate cages than creative spaces. If Gen Z got the design reins, the office wouldn’t just be a place you work, it’d be a place that actually works for you.

Here’s how we’d flip the script.
1. Bring Back Private Spaces (Yes, We Said It)
Open offices had their moment, but we’re kinda over the “everyone can hear everyone” era. We want balance, a space where collaboration flows, but focus doesn’t interrupts.
Think cozy pods, quiet corners or soundproof zones where you can plug in, chill out or brainstorm without 10 people overhearing your voice notes.
2. Give Us a Vibe, Not a Void
We’re all about energy, light-filled rooms, mood-boosting colors and art that doesn’t scream “corporate.”
We want plants, natural textures and personality on the walls.
Basically, a workspace that feels alive, not like an Excel sheet in physical form.
3. Unconventional Furniture = Our Love Language
Forget the standard desk-and-chair combo. We’re talking about adaptable furniture that moves with our moods.
A sofa corner for casual catch-ups, height-adjustable tables for when we feel like standing and chairs that are as ergonomic as they are aesthetic.
Designs that say something artistic, modular and innovative because function is cool, but creativity is cooler.
4. Color Palette: No More 50 Shades of Grey
We’re officially retiring the millennial office color palette.
Bring in soft greens, warm neutrals, muted blues, or even a pop of terracotta. We like spaces that feel calm yet expressive, where color fuels creativity, not drains it.
5. Built for Flexibility, Grounded in Sustainability
We crave freedom both in our work and our workspace.
Flexible layouts, easy reconfiguration, and furniture built from sustainable materials are non-negotiable.
We care about how things are made and how long they last. If it’s eco-friendly and aesthetic, it’s a win-win.
6. Tech That Blends In, Not Takes Over
We grew up on screens, but we don’t want our offices to feel like screens.
Think effortless tech, wireless charging stations, smart boards, plug-and-play setups and spaces that keep us connected without being overwhelming.
7. Make Room for Real Culture
For us, a workspace is more than desks and decor; it’s a community.
A coffee bar where ideas spark, wellness zones for quick resets, and lounges that invite conversation.
Because when culture thrives, creativity follows.
So, What If Gen Z Designs the Workspace?
It’s flexible, it’s green, it’s bold, and it’s personal.
It’s where work feels good, ideas move fast, and every corner tells a story.
Because we’re not just designing for productivity.
We’re designing for people.
And that changes everything.
